Mission Statement:
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), a program within the Office of International Education and Development, supports the academic mission of the UNC system by promoting international educational. ISSS's mission is to:
- Ensure university compliance with immigration regulations regarding international students and scholars and facilitate the legal entry and transition of foreign students and scholars, and
- Advocate on behalf of the foreign students and scholars both within the university and to federal regulatory agencies to ensure that they are afforded every opportunity to complete their educational objectives, and
- Provide opportunities for intercultural education and exchange by providing educational and cultural programs that foster greater understanding and appreciation for other cultures and traditions.
