Exchange Students

The Office of International Education & Development welcomes you to Boone, NC and Appalachian State University.   At Appalachian State University, the Office of International Education & Development provides a wide range of services for exchange students and is a primary resource for all.  This office assists all international students and scholars in matters concerning orientation, housing, visa regulations, insurance, travel and medical information.

FINDING COURSE OFFERINGS AT APPALACHIAN

Option 1

  • Go to http://www.registrar.appstate.edu/schedules/index.html
  • Choose the intended semester of study at Appalachian and “submit”
  • Select a subject (ex: Accounting) and click on “class search”. This will display the list of all the available courses in that subject.

FINDING COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Option 2

  • Go to www.appstate.edu.
  • Click on “Academics.”
  • On the left under “Related Sites” click on “Course Catalogs”
  • Click on “Entire Catalog” which will take you to a clickable Table of Contents.
  • On the left, click on the plus sign (+) beside the College you are interested in. A drop down a list of all the academic departments within that College will appear.
  • Click on the name of the department to reach the department description, and then scroll down to reach the course descriptions. See above for instructions on interpreting course descriptions.

Incoming Exchange Students application

If you are interested in an exchange program at Appalachian State University, please contact your International Office first for details of direct exchange.  Students must be selected by the their respective home institutions and applications mailed from that office.   Applications mailed by students directly cannot be accepted.
