ASU Faculty Led Summer and Short Term Study Abroad Programs

The Office of International Education and Development (OIED) encourages Appalachian faculty to consider leading an Appalachian Overseas Education Program. Our mission is to work together with faculty and academic departments to develop an educational experience abroad for Appalachian students and to assist potential program leaders in developing new programs.

Appalachian Overseas Education Programs offer enriching experiences for both faculty and students. While fostering global awareness and providing students with an opportunity to travel and study abroad, these programs provide rewarding travel opportunities and stimulating professional growth and development to faculty members. During the past academic year, faculty-led Appalachian Overseas Education Programs served over 400 students with study opportunities in Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Australian region.

We encourage Faculty members who would like to offer new overseas education programs to consult with Meg Marck-Kennedy or Nathalie Turner to obtain the appropriate forms, assistance, and advice.  To see information on the current programs visit here.
