Appalachian State University offers Appalachian students the opportunity to enroll in fall, spring, and summer short-term faculty-led Appalachian Overseas Education Programs (AOEP). These programs are led by Appalachian faculty and spend anywhere from one week to one month abroad. A majority of the AOEPs hold class sessions on-campus or online before and after going abroad. Non-Appalachian students are welcome to apply to summer AOEPs. Non-Appalachian students need to contact Nathalie Turner at turnernm@appstate.edu no later than February 1st before applying. Appalachian students need to apply by March 9th.

Unless otherwise indicated, international airfare, insurance, and housing are included in all programs. The meal coverage included in the program cost varies with each program. Program costs are subject to change pending currency rate fluctuations and the number of program participants. Program dates are tentative. Appalachian reserves the right to cancel or alter the program format or to change costs in case of conditions beyond the university's control.
