Annual Reports

OIED Annual Reports document the University's success in internationalizing Appalachian State University and the surrounding community. The linked reports are in PDF form.

In 2007, Appalachian was one of six universities across the U.S. selected to participate in the fourth cohort of the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Internationalization Laboratory for 2007/2008.  Appalachian completed its participation in the Laboratory during the 2008/09 academic year.  Participation in the ACE Internationalization Laboratory assisted Appalachian in (1) development of its internationalization mission, vision, and values statements; (2) review of internationalization efforts (self-study); (3) articulation of students’ global learning outcomes and assessment plan; and (4) development of recommendations to deepen and improve Appalachian’s internationalization efforts.  The overall conclusion after participating in the Laboratory was that Appalachian was engaged in a great deal of activities; however, these activities are fragmented, disjointed, and not widely reported to others within the University and sometimes within the same department.  The final report from the Laboratory affirmed the University where it was doing well and recommended action where weaknesses were noted.
