The Semester Program Cost Comparison page is designed to help students compare the cost of spending a semester abroad to the cost of studying at Appalachian. Listed below are programs that may be comparable to, or less than, a typical semester at Appalachian.

Please note: Comparisons are based on the total anticipated cost of attending the study abroad program (including fees, books and supplies, room and board, personal expenses (daily living expenses), and transportation) and the estimated cost of attendance at Appalachian for an undergraduate student living off-campus, (based on current tuition rates; excluding any fixed tuition cohort information). Program costs are subject to change, and the actual cost of participating in a specific study abroad program will depend on a variety of factors.

Finances: Studying abroad is an investment in your future. Like any other type of investment, it requires careful planning and management. Students should fully understand the cost of their program, how financial aid works, and what scholarships and other funding options are available. For out-of-state students there are many programs that would be equal to or only slightly more than a semester at Appalachian.  Given the number of programs that would qualify we have only provided a sample of programs that would be less than a semester at Appalachian.
