Dereje Amene

Dereje Amene Yimam has more than seven years of multidisciplinary research and teaching experience, particularly in climate change related fields. Currently, Dereje is an assistant professor of Environmental Management in the University of Gondar where he is rendering community services which had meaningful impacts on the lives of the rural farming communities. He is a co-founder and volunteer of Taytu, a local non-governmental organization where he is producing climate-smart technologies for the drought-affected farming households. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Dereje plans to establish a regional climate risk resilience research and training center.
