Janet Hawa Koroma has five years of experience working to develop and educate communities. She currently serves as a social worker with ActionAid Sierra Leone, supporting the organization’s mission to create a safe learning environment for girls, and increase their access to quality education. Janet also volunteers for various non-profit organizations that promote education for girls, land rights for women, and the participation of both women and young people in political processes. She studied Law at Fourah Bay College at the University of Sierra Leone. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Janet plans to become an international human rights lawyer and an advocate for gender equality.
