Martha Irene Plange has nine years of experience as a Social Worker. Currently, Martha Irene Plange is the acting head of the Social Welfare and Community Development Department at the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region. This department focuses on child rights protection and promotion, community care, and justice administration. In this position, Martha Irene Plange has helped 99 persons with disabilities to acquire assorted items that improve the standard of living. She has also volunteered with Rising Star Aid to provide skills training in detergent making for some selected vulnerable groups. Martha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Work from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Martha will continue to work with vulnerable groups by actively engaging with them to identify their specific needs and providing them with economic empowerment that will help address their individual needs and improvement in their standard of living.
