Tinashe

Tinashe Melford Musengi has over five years of experience working in agriculture, education, and engineering. He is the founder and executive director of Melford’s Elementary Connect Trust, a specialist non-profit organization that strives to empower youth, orphans, and other vulnerable children through income generating and sustainable agricultural initiatives. Previously, Tinashe worked for the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education where he provided academic leadership in teaching, as well as serving as an agriculture volunteer for the Jairos Jiri Association for the Disabled and Blind. Tinashe holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering with honors from Chinhoyi University of Technology, and a postgraduate diploma in Education from Zimbabwe Open University. He envisions a self-sustaining generation of young adults who give back to society. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Tinashe plans to work on step gap programs for vulnerable children and to make use of the YALI network to replicate Melford’s Elementary Connect Trust projects across Africa.
