Katie Bigelow serves as Grant Assistant for the Office of International Education and Development. She is currently a college junior at Appalachian State University and is studying Public Health as well as Spanish and Hispanic Studies. Katie plans to study abroad (and graduate) in Chile during the Fall semester of 2022. From there, she would like to teach English abroad before coming back to the United States to explore career options in the Public Health field. Additionally, Katie started her own non-profit in 2016 as a sophomore in high school called Joining Generations. Katie has enjoyed learning more about the non-profit sector these past 5 years while simultaneously building her program to impact both high schoolers and senior citizens in senior care homes through engaging, interactive, intergenerational activities.
