Agnes Kabonesa - Uganda

Agnes Kabonesa has over four years of experience in the community development sector focusing on child protection, peer education, gender-based violence, domestic violence, life skills, education, and child marriage. She is currently working as an advocacy assistant, peer educator, life skills trainer, and ambassador of child marriage at World Vision Uganda, where she focuses on advocacy campaigns, community education and mobilization, child protection, and child and youth engagement activities in Uganda and internationally. She is driven by her passion for gender equality, ending violence against children, leadership, child and youth empowerment and engagement, and community involvement. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Agnes plans continue with her work in community development with a focus on gender equality, advocacy campaigns, health, education, and counseling. She aims to train young girls on how to make reusable pads, among other projects.
