Hawa Casandria Wilson is a youth leader with seven years’ experience who is passionate about good governance, gender, social welfare, health, education, and the environment. She is currently the program director of the Paramount Young Women Initiative, where she is focused on initiating and designing programs and projects that support gender equality and women’s empowerment. In 2016, she received a United Methodist University volunteer award. Hawa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a specialization in Social Work and is pursuing her Master in Community Development. Her work with young women and adolescent girls is driven by her commitment to see women in Liberia and Africa live improved lives. Her goal is to one day see women with equal rights to men. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she hopes to establish women’s community centers to address issues pertaining to women and adolescent girls.
