Suleiman Makore has three years of experience in wildlife management, working with volunteer organizations in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. Currently, Suleiman is a member of Wildlife and Environment Zimbabwe, which provides public education on the importance of protecting wildlife and the environment. The organization also conserves natural resources by ensuring fair and sustainable resource utilization. Suleiman is a medical doctor who trained at the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently pursuing further specialist training. He aspires to see increased involvement in conservation activities by communities living in wildlife-rich areas. He believes that the wildlife sector must be more inclusive to communities since people are more likely to value that which they understand. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Suleiman intends to continue encouraging wider participation in annual game counts and membership in various conservation societies, particularly of those from economically disadvantaged communities and youth.
