Bio:

Karen Binger Marshall is the Assistant Director of International Student and Scholar Services and Outreach (ISSSO) in the Office of International Education and Development.

She works closely with the ISSSO team to provide immigration and support services to international students on J-1 exchange and F-1 degree seeking visas, and occasionally international scholars and faculty on J-1 and H-1B visas.

She also happily serves as the staff advisor to International Appalachian (INTAPP), an amazing student run organization affiliated with OIED, and serves as co-chair of the Global Symposium planning committee.

Karen double majored in Political Science and Spanish at the University of Pennsylvania and then received her M.Ed in International Education from the Center for International Education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Prior to joining OIED, Karen worked in international admissions at both App State and the University of Massachusetts. She also taught English as a foreign language in the Czech Republic, Kosovo, and Peru. Karen is married with two rambunctious children, and loves to be outside hiking and gardening whenever possible.
