About the Office of International Programs (OIP)
OIP is responsible for spearheading the global engagement efforts at App State. Through the curriculum, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, relationships with scholars and students from around the world, education abroad programs, grants, and scholarships for collaborative research abroad, and numerous cross-cultural programs, OIP creates opportunities for students to understand the world and be active participants in it. App State is committed to engage students in diverse experiences at home and abroad to increase their knowledge of global issues, regions, and cultures; improve their intercultural skills, and develop attitudes that cultivate global citizenship.
About the Marketing Graduate Assistant
Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position assists with marketing and outreach efforts on behalf of the office. The graduate assistant is employed for a minimum of 2 semesters (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025) with an opportunity to extend. The position works 20 hours per week at $16.66 / hour.
Job Duties
Assist with developing and implementing an annual marketing plan
Assist with editing and maintaining the OIP website
Manage social media accounts
Coordinate special events
Create graphic representations of data into readable content for stakeholders
Review current outreach efforts and provide guidance on new directions
Maintain OIP brand identity in all marketing materials

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Educational and / or work background in marketing and outreach
Proficiency in InDesign, Canva, photo editing software, and other technologies that support marketing and outreach efforts
Capable of working independently
Excellent communication skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to imagine, plan, and implement creative projects
Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices
