Veteran’s Benefits and Education Abroad
Exchange Program. Because of the nature of our exchange programs, you will be paying tuition directly to App State and taking courses at an institution that has an exchange agreement with App State. For this reason, they are study abroad programs that are considered to be "owned" by the univrsity, making these programs eligible for VA benefits.
Affiliate. Affiliates are essentially study abroad companies that operate as a third party provider to facilitate your study abroad program at a foreign institution. The VA is unlikely to certify any benefits going to a third party provider. Therefore, you would not be able to use your VA benefits with an affiliate program.
Faculty-Led. Our faculty-led programs are App State courses, taught by App State faculty, and collecting App State tuition. For this reason, they are study abroad programs that are considered to be “owned” by the university, making these programs eligible for VA benefits.
