Office of International Education and Development

 Chafin Cornwell is the Business Officer for the Office of International Education and Development. His major responsibilities include but are not limited to all departmental financial affairs; execution of all aspects of budget management from daily transaction processing to complex financial reports and database creation. He works closely with the Executive Director in OIED and the other units of the office to ensure OIED’s mission objectives are completed. 

A native of Western North Carolina, Chafin graduated from Appalachian State in 2019 with a BS in Psychology with a concentration in Business. During his time at App State he also minored in Recreation Management. While he regrets never taking the opportunity to study abroad, he did get a taste of International travel by recently visiting Crete and is now eagerly planning his next trip out of the country. 

Chafin enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing, and gardening. He is a huge sports fan and does his best to make it to as many live events as possible but also enjoys watching from his couch. He is also a big dog person and anytime you see him, you will probably also see him with a dog whether it be his own or when he is volunteering at the humane society.
