Bio: 

James Holden serves as a Faculty-Led Program Coordinator, working with short-term education abroad programs led by faculty members.

A Boone native, James received his BA in Chinese and history from UNC Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing an MA in Higher Education at Appalachian State. As an undergraduate he studied abroad in Yunnan, China and after graduating he worked in Hunan, China. He taught high school Chinese and social studies in Kentucky until he returned to Boone. Before joining the OIED, he worked as a tutor for people preparing for the Test of English as a Foreign Language.

In his free time, James enjoys hiking, listening to podcasts, singing in choir, and spending time with his family.
