Office of International Programs

Katie Lail is the Business Officer for the Office of International Programs at Appalachian State University, where she brings over four years of administrative experience supporting faculty and students. A U.S. Army veteran with eight years of service, Katie is also the owner of her own LLC, where she focuses on mental wellbeing and education, including Mental Health First Aid training.

She is currently pursuing a degree in Social Work through the Beaver College of Health Sciences and holds an Associate of Arts from Wilkes Community College. Passionate about holistic support and community care, Katie balances her professional and academic life with family—she’s a proud mother to a two-year-old son, shares her life with her husband (also an App State employee), and their two energetic dogs. The Lail family enjoys live music, kayaking, spending time outdoors, and traveling whenever they can.
