We are thrilled to be hosting the International Photo Contest again as a part of International Education Week. If you have an international experience with Appalachian State University, please consider sharing a photo with us!

Please read the instructions before submitting photos.

• Participants
  • App State students who have traveled abroad in a university context (study abroad, international internship, academic conferences, alternative service experience)
  • App State international students
  • App State faculty and staff  who have traveled abroad in a university context (study abroad, international internship, academic conferences)

• Submission specifications
  • You may submit up to 3 photos
  • Photos should be from August 2025 to October 2026
  • Please submit photos as .png or .jpg format (.png preferred)
  • The larger the dimensions, the better (1200 x 800 pixels is ideal)
  • Provide the location, date and short caption for each picture you submit. Photos lacking any of these will not be considered for judging
  • Optionally, you may give a lengthier description as well

• Prizes
  • 1st place winners will receive a matted color print of their photo
  • Winners will be announced at the annual Global Leadership Awards Luncheon
  • Winners are determined based on light, color, photo quality, dimension/composition, and cultural story

• Rules
  • Any crude or rude material will be disqualified
