This is a workshop for all students planning to study abroad. This workshop covers the following information:

  • Coursework & Approvals 
  • Scholarships
  • Financial Aid
  • Application Process

Walk-in Advising

  • For students who are not able to attend a 101 or have quick questions (15-minute max) 
  • Wednesdays - 1:00-4:30
  • Walk-in advisees will be seen on a first-come-first-served basis, so there may be wait times involved.

Online Advising

Online Advising for Summer 2016 will be TWR from 11:00am-3:00 pm. Advising will only occur during listed advising hours. To start an online session: 

  • Log into your AppState Gmail account. 
  • Search for in the chat window. This will be the advising email account. 
  • Talk to a study abroad advisor! 

Our office will not offer advising through individual accounts. The purpose for this is so we keep a continuous flow of information occurring and to prevent duplication of efforts.

Make an Advising Appointment 

Click the links below to make an appointment with our study abroad advisors. You will be prompted to enter your ASU username and password. You will be sent to an appointment request form. Both you and the Education Abroad Advisor will receive email notification of your appointment time and date. Students should report to Office Suite 321 in the Plemmons Student Union and check-in at the front desk.

Education Abroad Ambassadors

Beginning in Spring 2016 the Education Abroad unit of the Office of International Education and Development has put together a program for recently returned study abroad students. Their purpose is to assist with basic questios regarding the study abroad process and share their own experiences. Check out their page for more information such as what programs they went on as well as their email addresses to contact them!

Inclement Weather Policy:

The Office of International Education & Development will be closed if classes are cancelled due to inclement weather or if road conditions deteriorate.

Faculty-led Study Abroad Financial Workshop

All students are strongly urged to attend a Faculty-led Study Abroad Financial Workshop prior to submitting the signed application to OIED. These workshops are held throughout the semester. We will answer your questions about program payment schedule, cancellation policy, financial aid and other funding sources, financial planning, and other related topics. ALL IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS WILL BE HELD IN THE PLEMMONS STUDENT UNION. Online and evening workshops are available on (TBD). For workshop dates and to register for a workshop, registration form.
